Sticky Noodles

So it amazes me at how much someone so close to you can have such an influence.  I come to the conclusion that I wouldn't have really been open to much more than an opinion or different point of view coming out of anyone's mouth other than my boyfriends.  And it is over something so silly!  Spaghetti out of all things!

I have always been raised that after the spaghetti has boiled and steamed to the point that you can throw a noodle at the wall and it will stick, that it is finished. After that, I would take the spaghetti and run it under cool water to make sure that the noodles don't stick together.  So here is the conversation between Chris and I.

Me: Oh man, we don't have a strainer to rinse the spaghetti out.
Chris: Why do you need to rinse the spaghetti out?
Me: To make it so the noodles don't stick together.
Chris: What's wrong with the noodles sticking together?

*pause*  And that has been something that I have been thinking about, all the way up until now.  Mind you, this happened about a week ago and the thing that fascinates me about the whole situation is that last night....I didn't rinse the noodles out.  I didn't rinse the noodles out the last time I made spaghetti either!  Now, had it come from someone other than Chris, makes me wonder if I would have taken that statement into consideration as much as I did.  So that is definitely something  to keep in mind.  How much do your words and actions influence someone that is close to you?

It's kind of funny.  I guess I'm finding some sort of moral to something so simple.  I bet I could find some moral priority to any story that I would write about.  Hopefully its more beneficial than annoying. *wink*
